I see the President, just a couple of days after the election, said the "rich will have to pay more taxes." Is it "conniving and dishonest" that he waited until after the election to announce that? Of course, who would be at all surprised by this?
More interesting to me will be the reaction of some people. Retired teachers reacted with great anger toward Governor Snyder and the Republicans for taxing their previously untaxed pensions. As I noted earlier, most folks will pay less than $400 in state income taxes.
Now, with an Obama-led tax increase, these same folks might well face a tax increase, on the federal not state level, of five or more times this! I am very, very curious to see the reaction of these teacher retirees. Will they be as vehement toward an Obama tax as they have been toward a Snyder (Michigan governor) tax?
I'm almost willing to get such a federal tax increase just to be able to ask these people about this. Paying $2000 more in taxes is OK, if the right person is sponsoring the tax. But paying a few hundred due to the efforts of the wrong person is objectionable.
Oh, I can't wait....almost.
Forgive any typos--I just came home from a wedding.

Funny isn't it how everything dies down and nothing changes. When you hear about how unions push their agenda you just wonder how disconnected they are... I'm retiring in New Zealand anyway.
The insinuation that Obama waited until after the election to say that the "rich will have to pay more taxes" is ludicrous. Either you paid zero attention to the entire campaign or you are being disingenuous with your post.
From page 7 of Obama's pre-election jobs plan booklet:
"It means eliminating special loopholes and tax breaks that benefit big
business and the wealthiest, and asking them to pay a little more."

If you need more links let me know but I think the evidence is clear.
(Edit, this is from the second debate) Just in case you think those links are too obscure for the average voter, this is from the first debate. You only need to listen to the first 10 seconds.

Of course he said it before the election. It's no secret he favors taxing "the wealthy," that is, certain "wealthy" people. He's been in favor of taxing others (Gee, if paying taxes is such a good thing, why doesn't Obama pay more voluntarily????? I know why and so do most objective people.) from day one. But the Obama-fawning media didn't exactly put this on page one for the past few months, did they? Where were the exact words, "The rich will have to pay more" in the immediate weeks before the election? Did he say them and the media not report or print them? There's lots more, but some people will never be convinced that Obama is "conniving and dishonest," to use the Democrats' criticism of the Republican candidate for the House around here.
